3-DAY HORSEBACK TREK TO SON-KOL LAKE
Son-Kol Lake is one of Kyrgyzstan’s must-see attractions. All tourists visiting our country should see this wonderful lake. You can get there by car, on foot, or on horseback. We suggest you do it on horseback with our local grooms.
DAY 1:
KYZART – KILEMCHE
You will need to arrive at the village of Kyzart. Many people arrive from Kochkor, but some come directly from Bishkek. The horseback trek begins in the afternoon, and you will have lunch with a local family in Kyzart. Meet your guide-groom and your horses. Kyrgyz horses are very docile. In addition, you will have horses that are used to tourists. After a 4-hour trek, you will arrive at the mountain pasture called “Kilemche.”
Dinner and overnight stay in a yurt.

DAY 2:
KILEMCHE – SON-KOL LAKE
In the morning after breakfast, you will continue the trek. You will climb to the Jalgyz-Karagay pass (3,300 m) and descend to the lake. Lunch in a yurt. Then, you will remount your horses and arrive at a place called “Tuz Achou.” 4-5 hours of horseback trek. Dinner and overnight stay in a yurt.

DAY 3:
LAKE SON KOL – KYZART
You cross another pass to descend to the village of Kyzart. 4-5 hours of horseback trek. You arrive at the village and have lunch with the locals. After lunch, they will find you a taxi to Kochkor, Bishkek, or elsewhere.
